Who is it for?

This course is for adults aged 19+ who have some foundational knowledge of Italian at A1 level or have already completed our previous year of ‘Italian Beginners’ and would like to explore the language in more detail.


What will I learn?

You will learn how to communicate in Italian at a basic level whilst acquiring familiarity with the foundation of the language and some common expressions. Speaking, listening, reading and writing will be developed, with emphasis on natural conversational skills and elements of the Italian culture.

Course content includes:

  • How to ask for directions and describe a journey to a place
  • How to communicate to make reservations and ask for similar information when travelling
  • How to ask and provide information about opening and closing times
  • How to talk about free time, near future plans, likes and dislikes, using regular verbs in the present tense with more confidence
  • How to form the “partitivo” (plural of the indefinite articles) and agreement of adjectives and nouns
  • How to produce a small piece of writing at A1 level
  • Starting to talk about past events and holidays
  • Starting to become familiar with the structure and use of the past tense (“passato prossimo”)
