Who is it for?

This course is aimed at adults aged 19+ who have some knowledge of the Italian language or have already completed our previous year and a half of Italian. It is suitable for those whose knowledge of Italian is at the CEFR A1/A2 level – e.g. those who can understand the point of short messages, read short text and extract information, participate in short social exchanges, describe family, jobs and education in simple terms, and write short, simple notes or letters.

What will I learn?

This course will teach you how to use a range of topics and expressions whilst acquiring a deeper understanding of the structure of the Italian language. Previous grammar knowledge will be consolidated and new elements will be introduced and put into practice. Speaking, listening, reading and writing will be further developed, with emphasis on natural conversational skills and elements of the Italian culture.

You will learn how to:

• Recognise some new elements and expressions of the Italian culture and traditions.
• Extract meanings from reading extracts, audio files and videos at A1/A2 level
• Use possessive adjectives and practice the use of reflexive verbs
• Talk about daily routine
• Describe family using the relevant vocabulary
• Engage in relevant role-plays with real-life situations
• Talk about present, past and near future events with more confidence.
• Confidently use the grammar and expressions previously learnt.
