How our learners progress
Michael has been with RALSS since September 2010. He is currently studying First Steps English and has just got a job in Melton Mowbray.
It hasn’t been easy but my parents have noticed my progress in leaps and bounds since I have been coming to do the English. Also I am more confident to try spelling my words and to do write-ups, for example ‘what I have been doing on my holidays’.
My first teacher, Karen, persuaded me to read and write about my holidays. To start with there were too many “ands”.
My reading has come along but it takes a while to get any traction but I get there in the end.
At my interview I was asked about what I had been doing. I mentioned I had college on a Thursday and they were impressed with what I had been doing.
It has taken a little while to do but it is worth it in the end.
I enjoy coming to see my friends in class and interact with them.
First day at work tomorrow!
