Who is it for?

This workshop is for anyone wanting to explore the art of silk painting in a relaxed, supportive environment. All abilities welcome!

What will I learn?

You’ll learn how to complete a silk painting using the ‘gutta resist’ method.

After demonstrations from the tutor, you’ll experiment with gutta and paints. You’ll then choose your main design – floral, geometric and animal-themed patterns are available to use, or you could create your own – and trace this onto silk using metallic gutta. Once traced, you’ll blend and mix varieties of paint shades, then apply these to your painting.

What could I do after this?

Continue developing your skills with additional art classes through RALSS or other providers. Try out a variety of enjoyable craft-based activities that you can take home and display in your house!
