Who is it for?
Learners of all abilities are welcome, from complete beginners to those wanting to improve their skills/personal style.
What will I learn?
Sessions will take a workshop-style format where you will be introduced to specific hand-building and surface decoration techniques. You will be given time to practice techniques and build your skills to create your own ceramic objects, under the guidance of the tutor. There are also two pottery wheels for learners to use on an ad-hoc basis.
Please note there is a charge of 80p per 100g for finished work.
What could I do after this?
Pottery courses at RALSS are delivered by 2 tutors – each course has a different theme and covers different construction and decoration methods. Many learners choose to return to build on their skills and knowledge, or work on their own projects with the support of the tutors. Further creative courses at RALSS occur throughout the year to cater for a broad spectrum of methods and media, and RALSS creates opportunities for learners to exhibit and sell their work.
