Who is it for?

This course is suitable for adults who have and can use a sewing machine and would like to explore patchwork, quilting and applique.

What will I learn?

This is a practical craft course giving you the skills to make a lovely patchwork quilt using your sewing machine. You’ll learn how to:

  • Use a rotary cutter to safely and accurately cut fabric for your patchwork design
  • Join your pieces using a sewing machine
  • Appliqué borders
  • Apply backing and quilt through the layers on the sewing machine
  • Bind your quilt to complete the project

Please note you will need to purchase the materials for this course at a cost of around £90. A materials list can be found in the uploaded course information document.

What could I do after this?

Enjoy further patchwork projects available on YouTube and in books using the skills you have learned. You could also progress on to other sewing courses with RALSS or join one of the many sewing/patchwork groups in your area.
