Who it’s for:
This course is for those who need to develop their English skills and who wish to achieve a nationally-recognised GCSE English qualification. You will need reasonable reading and writing abilities, and will take a short writing assessment before enrolment.
What you’ll learn:
You will develop the skills needed to read, understand and analyse a wide range of different texts covering the 19th, 20th and 21st century time periods, as well as write clearly, coherently and accurately using a range of vocabulary and sentence structures.
The course will cover the AQA specification at grades 9 – 1 (old grades A* – G). You will be assessed via two formal exams (‘Explorations in creative reading and writing’ and ‘Writers’ viewpoints and perspectives’) at the end of the course, and a Spoken Language non-examination assessment during the course.
