This two-week workshop is aimed at people interested in making their own glass jewellery, regardless of experience. You will finish and mount glass cabouchons to produce earrings, pendants or brooches.
What will I learn?
In Session 1, you will learn how to cut, decorate and assemble glass to form cabouchons. These will then be fired.
In Session 2, you will then learn how to finish the cabouchons and fix them on to jewellery findings.
By the end of course, you will be able to work safely with a hazardous medium, cut sheet glass, appreciate when to use transparent, opaque and dichroic glass, create glass cabouchons and then mount the cabouchons to produce earrings, pendants and brooches.
Please note that whilst Session 1 on 20th March will be 10am – 12pm, Session 2 on 27th March will be 9am – 10am. Learners will also need to provide their own chains and ‘thongs’.
