Who it’s for:

This course is for both beginners and those who have a little experience of working with glass.

What you’ll learn:

Over the course of the five weeks, you will learn the difference between transparent and opaque glass, the different forms of fused glass including sheet, frit, confetti, stringers, noodles and dichroic, and how to work safely with these.

You’ll look at the process of fusing and slumping glass to create candle curves and bowls, and then go on to look at sgraffito techniques using paint on glass. You’ll develop this further to look at painting with frit. You’ll also investigate how to use paper for kiln carving. Using these techniques, you will go on to design and create a final piece.
