Who is it for?

The Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) is suitable for anyone working in early years education and care.

What will I learn?

This qualification will prepare you to become an Early Years Educators, enabling you to work with children from birth to 5 years and
gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years.

It comprises of 23 units structured around three themes:

  • Health and well being
  • Legislation, frameworks and professional practice
  • Play, development and learning for school readiness

Content includes promoting children’s emotional well-being, supporting children who are unwell, legislation relating to the safeguarding, protection and welfare of children, working in partnership, the value of play in Early Years, developing children’s cognitive skills and supporting children’s transition to school.

A minimum of 350 placement hours are required to achieve this qualification. During placement, you will need support from a professional within the real work environment who will be required to complete professional development records.
