What will I learn?
This five-week, fun and interactive course offers an introduction to some of the basics of creative writing. You’ll explore a range of techniques to spark the imagination and tap into your inner creativity. You’ll work with a range of writing forms, such as poetry and flash fiction, and be introduced to some of the fundamental skills of creative writing, including plot, settings and character development. The classes will offer an opportunity for you to develop your creative writing skills and improve your writing style. You’ll be encouraged to experiment with creative writing in a supportive environment.

Course outcomes:
Learners will be able to:

• Explore practical ways of gaining inspiration to write
• Consider writing in a variety of different forms, such as poetry and flash fiction, and attempt to write in at least two
• Share their writing, benefiting from and contributing to group feedback
• Establish their own priorities as writers and identify how to progress in the future
