Becky’s Experience with RALS
I’m Becky, and I’m a learner with Rutland Adult Learning. A few years ago, I went through a difficult relationship break-up and wanted to take some action to get back on track. I’m a parent to three children and after an extremely tough few years, I was re-housed within Rutland. I decided to get in touch with Rutland Adult Learning, and registered on a short five week course – Introduction to Health and Social Care. Through doing this course, I found out you could do maths and English courses equivalent to GCSE for free. I joined both and gained my Level 1 and 2 in both maths and English. This year Functional Skills came into place, so I am currently working towards both of those at Level 2, having just passed Level 1 in English. Alongside these courses I have joined many other part-time courses with family learning, including Cooking on a Budget and an Introduction to Coaching Skills. I feel stronger and more confident and I’ve met some nice new friends.
I would strongly urge anybody to join a course at RALS and get something back for the better in your life and improve your confidence and self-esteem.
